Education

Taylor S. Braithwaite

Taylor is a trial lawyer. He’s also an attack helicopter pilot in the SC Army National Guard and served 14 years in the Marine Corps as a JAG and Civil Affairs Officer before that.  These roles might seem at odds with one another, but the principles instilled by each inform Taylor’s approach to every case.

Taylor grew up in the CSRA. After graduating from The Citadel in 2007, Taylor commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and attended law school at Mercer University under the Marine Corps’ PLC-Law program. He graduated Mercer in 2010 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar the same year (then Georgia in 2018).

Taylor served four years as an active-duty Judge Advocate. In 2014, he became a Civil Affairs Officer in the Marine Corps Reserve and returned home to Aiken to join his father’s insurance defense practice.  In 2021 Taylor started his own firm to use his knowledge of insurance defense to benefit injured claimants in personal injury, wrongful death, and medical/nursing malpractice actions and established his own firm to focus on these cases.  At the same time, Taylor accepted a unique opportunity to transition to the South Carolina Army National Guard and become an AH-64E Attack Helicopter Pilot – a role Taylor continues to fill as a reserve Guardsman today.

Education

Samuel B. Grimes, Jr.

Sam was raised in Aiken and has always had an affinity for his hometown. He went to South Aiken High School and the University of South Carolina – Aiken. After law school at USC in Columbia, he served the local community working as a prosecutor for the Second Circuit Solicitor’s Office for over 14 years. During that time, he prosecuted every level of crime, and for over six years, he also served as the drug court prosecutor. This gave Sam a unique opportunity to provide some help for folks in recovery from addiction.
Strong advocacy for a client goes hand in hand with knowledgeable and compassionate counsel. This two-pronged approach begins with taking the time to help clients understand their legal situation so the best legal strategy can be formulated. Then, skilled advocacy at the negotiating table or in the courtroom is key in seeking an outcome tailored to the needs of a client.
Sam’s experience litigating and negotiating the most serious cases puts him in a position to assist clients in achieving the best outcomes for their difficult situations.
Sam is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Aiken County Bar. Sam is an avid fisherman, fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, and an aspiring jack of all trades.
